An unassuming otter in comfortable attire stands by the Quest Board, approaching anyone who looks at it for too long. A metal badge identifies them as the Quest Guard.
Cairn is the current Quest Guard, tasked with advising the Hero on which quests to take now and which ones to defer. They've taken it upon themselves to advise everyone else as well. The otter is always enthusiastic and outspoken, and sometimes a bit too quick to count an acquaintance a friend. If you get them talking, they'll tell you stories about their adventures and friends all around the world.
