**Public Bio:**

Hierophantic Mask is a strange and striking figure, fittingly for the mysteries she unveils. She’s a Luminymph in her mid-to-later twenties. Her skin is turquoise, shifting between green and blue like the tides. Lighter freckle-like markings cover her body, converging around her nose. The left and right side of her lipstick are different shades, highlighting her frequent grin.

She dresses eclectically, in clothes of many hues, and carries an assortment of vaguely unsettling objects (a mirror, a wand with the face of a leering jester-moon). Most of the time she wears a Mask, her namesake. Its body is carved of ancient wood. Its details glow blue. Through its eye-holes, she sees behind the surfaces of things. Back into their pasts.

Hierophantic Mask is a travelling historian. Her Role is uncovering the histories and meanings of things, so as to produce item descriptions for the Hero's quest. Her journeys generally take her between the Sea of Light, her birthplace and primary residence, and the Sunshade Desert, where she might mention that her partner lives.

Given her carnivalesque appearance and love of strange objects, it may seem odd that nobody can recall ever seeing her in Myddul.
