Crowds line the streets of Myddul City. Folks from all over Mydreign, coming together to celebrate the Founding Festival. Sharing food. Dancing. Playing music. Laughing. Telling stories. Having fun. Everyone is having a good time – unaware of the schemes a creature of evil has for the kingdom…
Away from the heart of the City, along a quieter road not yet touched by the festivities, stands a house. In this quiet house is a quiet room. And in that quiet room, there is an empty bed.
Wait… empty? That’s not right. This is the Hero’s house; they’re supposed to be here. And yet, the room is clearly empty. But the Hero isn’t anywhere else. So if they aren’t here…
The Hero is missing.
Welcome to New Game Plus! This is one of the two 2026 Summer Society Games for the Oxford Role-Playing Game Society, alongside Reference II. The game will be running on a Discord server created for the game, and more information about when it is running can be found here.
In this game, players will be playing characters within the RPG video game, Mythologies of Mydreign. Each of these characters has a Role within the world – some way that they are supposed to be involved with the Hero’s quest. They act as though on a script written for them, their words and actions decided for them in order to facilitate the Hero.
But this time, the Hero is not present. With their absence, the world of Mydreign and the characters within it are less fixed. The characters are presented with an opportunity to defy their usual actions, no longer needing to be defined by their Role. With such a choice available, who will take it, and what will become of them? What will become of Mydreign? Without the Hero, who will rise up to save the world?
New Game Plus will run on Tuesday evenings on alternate weeks, starting July 21st, 2026, on our Discord server. For more information, visit When and Where.
Accessibility
To view this wiki in accessible mode, click the palette icon in the top right and select “Readable”. Some of the pages may look a little strange in other styles, but they should be easier to read if you’re having issues with the current colour scheme and fonts. You can always return to the usual New Game Plus design by clicking the palette icon and selecting “Lumen”.
For more about Accessibility in New Game Plus as a whole, you can find more information here.
Navigating the Wiki
This Wiki is designed to give you all of the information you could possibly need to play the game, including IC information about the world and OC information about how the game will work. It is important to note that you do not have to read the entire Wiki to be able to have an enjoyable experience of the game. Below are a few suggestions of where you should focus your readings if you don’t have time to read everything.
- Make sure you read the Conduct & Acceptable Themes page, so that you know which sensitive themes are allowed to occur in game, as well as other safeguarding details.
- If you haven’t played a Society Game before, or you haven’t played one on Discord, check out the pages about Uptimes and Downtimes for information about the format of the game, Intro to the Wiki System for information about how to use the Wiki, as well as the Beginner's Guide for tips for roleplaying.
- For a summary of what to expect from the game tonally, check out the Style & Tone.
- For information about the world and its inhabitants, check out the World Overview and Species pages.
- For information about how to make a character, take a look at the Character Creation page, as well as Skills and Quirks to find out more character options. There will be an optional Character Creation event on July 13th, via our Discord server, where you can also get help and ideas.
Balloting
In order to be able to run a high quality game while also maintaining a healthy work-life balance, we will be setting a player cap of 20 people, and we will be forced to run a ballot for places in the game if we go above this cap. This ballot will be run jointly with Reference II, with a view to ensuring that as many people as possible get to play in a game. You will be able to say which game, if either, you would rather play in.
Balloting will be done in the following priority groups:
- People for whom New Game Plus or Reference II will be their first Society Game (this includes people who are not currently members of the ORPGSoc, who will have to pay membership after session 2 in order to continue participating)
- People who have played a Society Game before
The ballot can be accessed via the form here. The deadline for filling in this form is 19:00 BST on Monday 6th July.
In addition, if we reach the player cap, it may also be possible to join the team running the game as a GM, which will expand the available places for other people. As a GM, you will be responsible for helping run Uptimes, write Turnsheets, and manage a few player characters.
Results will be released on the Discord servers for ORPGSoc, New Game Plus, and Reference II. After this, if there are any places remaining, anyone who did not participate in balloting for any reason will be able to claim them at the GM teams' discretion on a first come, first served basis.
