**Public Bio:**

Waxen (Wax) Rain is a soft-bodied Luminymph of average height (for a Luminymph) in her mid-twenties, who runs a cartographic supply shop on the Raft called the Lodestone. Their name comes from their perpetually drawn, unwell complexion, which they emphasise through dark blue eyeshadow and lipstick. Regardless of the season, Wax is always cocooned in cream and dark blue shawls, tunics, and skirts, as well as parts of old fishing nets they’ve salvaged. Their necklace is covered in pearls, each one engraved to show their purpose, save for a large closed oyster shell in the middle of the necklace, and two non-pearl friendship charms. 

She can almost always be found behind the counter of the Lodestone, leafing through a Mydlin fashion magazine, testing the strength of map parchments and inks, or speaking softly with a customer. However, on the rare occasions she does venture out from her quiet, candlelit shop, Wax will often nod or raise a hand in greeting towards the majority of the other vendors and residents of the Raft -- far more people than she has any right to know as a perennial shut-in. 

In conversation, she is soft-spoken and reticent, but has been known to make the odd wry comment or two. Their hands are always stained with water-resistant inks, and for a Luminymph, their fins (especially the fins on their forearms) are iridescent, membranous, and unusually long.
