Lizard's Fangs' 5-year Plan

Before the last speck of dust from the war against the Villain even settles, the Lizard’s Fangs and its inhabitants have begun their reconstructions.

Alana has safely relocated the inhabitants of Tokay village along with refugees from other regions affected by the conflict in Lizard’s Fangs between Lavata, her sister Tephra, and the Villain disguised as a large Lava Viper.

Scars of the conflict can be seen all over. Gargantuan boulders left in the middle of a field, cracked faces of active volcanoes, obsidian pits that capped the rising lava holes, villages and ruins consumed by the tectonic movements, rock falls, and lava.

Ever since Tephra has taken the Obsidian Throne and replaced her sister, Lavata, as the Goddess of Lava and the Guardian of Lizard’s Fangs, things have begun to heal slowly.

While the sun was consumed, Tephra increased the lava flow temporarily, producing hot springs and warming the land so her subjects would not freeze to death.

And after the Villain was defeated, in no small part thanks to the Goddess herself who helped forged the Glaive of Hope, Tephra welcomes back the Volgeckos and others with open arms (metaphorically, as physically embracing the Goddess of Lava would be an agonising death). She even allows forest and grassland to spread into her volcanic region, changing the landscapes of the Lizard’s Fangs into a more livable and welcoming environment.

Serenity, the original Castellan of Fort Hammerfell, assumed responsibility for the failure at diplomacy with Lavata, which partly led to the conflict. She was permanently maimed in a combat against Lavata, too, and thus she assumed responsibility by retiring from her post and appointed Keahi to be the new Castellan. They then moved on to a more peaceful job around the fort – farming and feeding personnel of the Fort and the locals alike. While the rest of the Volgecko communities are still suspicious of them, their relationship to Angus and their current attempts seem to have convinced a few people to forgive them of their past.

Without Lavata and with the new Castellan running the Fort, the Volgeckos made a move to normalise their relationships with Fort Hammerfell. The newly appointed Castellan Keahi also greatly supported the initiative, citing the Fort’s knowledge and resources as an important tools for rebuilding and developing the region.

Keahi, being a Volgecko who grew up in the area, played his cards well. Not only did he stay on the good side of the Volgeckos and its chieftains, he also managed to befriend the Goddess of Lava herself. (Though, records show it was Angus who used his special relation with the goddess to introduce Keahi to her). He supported the initiative to repurpose the Fort away from weapon manufacturing into domestic production: tools, useful items, and even new technologies that can be used in both the Lizard’s Fangs and Myddul alike. The initiative is quite successful, and the Fort shares such profit with their workers and locals through the funding of public development projects.

New roads were built, devastated villages were repaired, and the people began to return to their normal life.

Combining stable guardian, resourceful technological and job provider, and a group of people who value community and collaboration, the Lizard’s Fangs returns to its former glory and is on a trajectory to continue its stable existence.
